The Festival Neue Musik Rockenhausen has set itself the goal of providing new impetus, enabling the people of the region to participate in valuable cultural diversity and at the same time strengthening the perception of the creative potential of rural areas.
The festival has opened up new spaces for artistic performances and inspiring encounters with each other and with new audience groups for the protagonists of contemporary music.
This music education project also includes continuous low-threshold offers for the population via the Carillon as a publicly accessible instrument for everyone. The same applies to the presentation of new music in schools in the city and the region: children and young people are introduced to the central themes of integration, conservation of nature and peace through music.
Experience has shown that new music facilitates access to young people, in contrast to conventional classical music.
