“Treetings” – family planning for a successful and responsible life

“Treetings” are meetings in the village square, conducted by RAIN WORKERS, who impart knowledge about taboo topics such as family planning, contraception, sexual health and safe motherhood in the local language using the BIG 5 TEACHING TOOLS.

In Uganda, 19 RAIN WORKERS have already been trained in the Busia region in 2023 in cooperation with GET WATER UGANDA.

A further 15 community health volunteers and teachers are now to be trained as RAIN WORKERS to meet the demand. After their certification, they will conduct educational sessions in villages and schools together with the experienced RAIN WORKERS.

The aim is to reduce teenage pregnancies, increase the use of modern contraception and increase HIV prevention through the use of condoms.

An impact measurement is carried out to evaluate the positive change in knowledge, attitude and behavior.
