Reconstruction of a health post with birthing station to reduce maternal and infant mortality, malnutrition and improve health care.
The health post in Bartha is the oldest and only one in the region. It was dilapidated, too small and had neither shower facilities nor a birthing station with overnight accommodation.
To ensure that important health services can be provided in the future, a new building is now being constructed with a maternity room, a bedroom for the nurse, a treatment room with overnight accommodation as well as a pharmacy.
The health post is being built with environmentally friendly and earthquake-resistant bricks and villagers are being trained in the manufacture of ECO2Bricks.
