This project supports farmers in four hubs in the Sundarbans and in Kalimpong who are at risk from climate change and changing environmental conditions.
These participants earn their living mainly through agriculture, which, however, does not generate enough income. The aim of the project is to improve the economic situation of the 800 participants per year in line with the results and approaches of the strategy development.
To this end, Soceo is working with four local partner organizations to support them in expanding their sustainable farming methods, diversifying their production, strengthening local processing and improving farmers’ access to markets.
Participating farmers thus become role models in their local communities. By working with four local organizations, the ecosystem of (social) entrepreneurial organizations in the field of sustainable agriculture is strengthened.
