Vocational training and business start-ups for marginalised young people

In the rural parts of Nepal, most people still live from agriculture – including in the communities of Sunapati, Doramba and Khadadevi in Ramechhap. The land and yields are barely enough to feed one’s family.

There are hardly any earning opportunities for unskilled workers except for agriculture. That is why more and more young people are migrating to Kathmandu, India or the Arab world, where they get unskilled work – but are often exploited.

An investment in vocational training and employment promotion must be tailored to local demand. On the one hand, people need local qualification offers that interest them. At the same time, this must take into account the local demand for services.

The local organization helps turn business ideas into reality and equips young entrepreneurs with initial tools. The groups are sustainably supported with training,

The innovative approach involves taking training directly to the villages with mobile workshops and instructors. This allows for flexibility in addressing the demand for training and apprentices locally and saves costs.
