As part of a program for 20 participants, a 40 square meter building was built in the Gilgil demonstration center. Several methods of natural building and also the use of used materials were used. Some lectures and theory lessons were held to deepen the knowledge. With a lot of commitment and enthusiasm, a building has been created that will contain a seed bank as a demonstration object.<\/p>\n

\nThe building materials used were old tires with tamped earth, cob (clay well construction), straw bale construction, earthbag walls, sand-filled plastic bottles with clay mortar, handmade clay bricks and clay plaster.
\nFour of the 20 participants were women. There were usually two participants from one community, some of whom had traveled a long way. All had a connection to the Seed Savers Network and are known as leaders in their communities, which promises good dissemination of what was learned. Many of the participants work in construction but also have some fields.
\nNature building specialist Elke Cole planned the course with representatives from Seed Savers. With the support of the staff, she managed the activities on site.<\/p>\n
