The Sch\u00f6ck-Familien-Stiftung gemeinn\u00fctzige GmbH was founded in 2012 on the initiative of Sabine Sch\u00f6ck and has since supported initiatives in the field of sustainable development cooperation, currently mainly in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Uganda.\u00a0<\/p>

With a view to helping socially disadvantaged people, the foundation also supports development projects in the area surrounding the company’s headquarters in Baden-Baden.\u00a0<\/p>

It primarily aims to support other charitable organisations in successfully setting up and implementing their projects.\u00a0<\/p>

It is important to the family to give disadvantaged people the chance to lead a self-determined life through personalised support, good education and training.<\/p>

Creating this basis enables open exchange between peoples and cultures and a sustainable approach to nature and the environment in the long term.<\/p>

The Sch\u00f6ck-Familien-Stiftung is already the Sch\u00f6ck family’s second charitable organisation. The first, the Eberhard-Sch\u00f6ck-Stiftung (ESST)<\/a>, was set up by the founder of Sch\u00f6ck AG, Eberhard Sch\u00f6ck, back in 1992. He and his wife Sabine transferred a large proportion of their shares in Sch\u00f6ck AG<\/a> to the foundations. This made them the largest shareholders in the company. A substantial part of the dividends earned by Sch\u00f6ck employees is therefore donated to charitable causes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Sabine Sch\u00f6ck was born in Dahlewitz near Berlin in 1937. In 1944, she and her mother were forced to escape from the advancing Russians as a result of the war. Mother and daughter found refuge on a farm near Bamberg. It was not until she was 16 years old that her father returned from captivity as a prisoner of war.<\/p>

After attending grammar school and commercial college, she completed a traineeship at a publishing house in Stuttgart. In 1961, Sabine Sch\u00f6ck moved to Baden-Baden, where she married Eberhard Sch\u00f6ck. Sabine Sch\u00f6ck stood by her husband\u2019s side since the founding of the Sch\u00f6ck company in 1962. They had four children by 1968.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

She had already discovered her gift for writing poetry at the age of nine. Her poems were published in the local newspaper at the time, allowing the young poet to earn a few pennies.<\/p>

It was only when her children had grown up that Sabine Sch\u00f6ck returned to her poetic gift. From 1988 onwards, SWR radio presenter Baldur Seifert, who died in 2003, made Sabine Sch\u00f6ck\u2019s poems accessible to a wide audience on his programme \u2018von 10 bis 12 am Sonntag\u2019 (from 10 to 12 on Sunday). She headed the authors\u2019 group at the \u2018Steinbach Ensemble\u2019 founded by Baldur Seifert. Further published works followed, including fairy tales.<\/p>

Sabine Sch\u00f6ck was considered a great patron of the spa town\u2019s culture and, with her literary work and the founding of the \u2018Literarisches Caf\u00e9 Baden-Baden\u2019 (Baden-Baden Literary Caf\u00e9), she shaped an institution that is known beyond the region.<\/p>

In addition to many other activities, Sabine Sch\u00f6ck was also co-founder and member of the board of trustees of the Eberhard-Sch\u00f6ck-Stiftung, supported charitable causes and organised visiting services for elderly and sick people.<\/p>

In 2012, she initiated the Sch\u00f6ck-Familien-Stiftung with the involvement of her children and performed her duties as chair of the advisory board with great passion.<\/p>

Sabine Sch\u00f6ck was awarded the Staufer Medal for Special Merit in 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Eberhard Sch\u00f6ck was born in N\u00fcrtingen, Germany on April 26, 1935. After completing school, apprenticing as a bricklayer and internships with an architect and at a factory for prefabricated parts, he began his civil engineering studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Stuttgart. In 1956, he received an award for the best interim exam.<\/p>

Subsequently, he enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. Before and during his studies, he completed various internships abroad: in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, in England and in Turkey. This gave him a deep appreciation for cultural exchange with other countries.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In 1958, he completed his civil engineering degree in Hamburg. At his first job with the Institute for Human Factors at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, his responsibilities included finding ways to make construction methods more efficient. He became absorbed with this notion. All of his later inventions and innovations served to improve building quality and make the construction process more efficient.<\/p>

In 1962, Eberhard Sch\u00f6ck founded his own construction company as well as Sch\u00f6ck Bauteile GmbH in Varnhalt near Baden-Baden, Germany. Since its inception, the company has grown into an international supplier of construction materials; the Sch\u00f6ck Group employs more than 1,000 people. The main focus of the Sch\u00f6ck Group is the development of ready-made construction parts that integrate into the engineered structure and benefit the structural physics of the building, for instance by reducing the number of thermal bridges in overhangs and adding sound insulation. Innovative reinforcement technology is also being developed.<\/p>

During his time as managing director, he always sought contact with employees in all areas and took their concerns seriously. This earned him great sympathy and respect even after his death.<\/p>

In 1992, he founded the Eberhard Sch\u00f6ck Foundation, which he chaired. In 2017, he handed the chairmanship over to his daughter Simone.<\/p>

In 2012, he supported his wife in establishing the Sch\u00f6ck-Familien-Stiftung gGmbH.<\/p>
