Mangalakara Children’s Home, Andhra Pradesh

The Mangalakara Children’s Home is currently home to around 300 children, to which two colleges are attached. The contact came about through Angelika Holler, who has been working in Andra Pradesh, one of the poorest states in India, since 1993. As a teacher, her main concern was the welfare of children. Girls in particular have a very difficult time in India. The state schools are hardly recommendable, one often only has a chance of a good school education in a private school.

That is why the former teacher supports an orphanage with 300 children, which is already affiliated with two colleges in Puttaparthi.

The Schöck-Familien-Stiftung has been supporting the project since 2017 and has, among other things, drilled wells after periods of drought and renovated a dormitory. Also financed the expansion of a meeting hall for sports, theater and festivals.
